The Snuggliest, Coziest, Warmest Booties for your Babe

Cool evenings, crackling fires, crunchy leaves and cozy slippers. These are a few of our favourite, favourite things about fall. There’s something about coming in from a day of fun outdoors, warming up by the fire, and snuggling into your favourite warm-and-cozies that just makes life good.  With all of the teething we’ve been going through lately, anything that makes our little guy feel cozy and comfy is definitely a bonus! But we’ve been feeling a bit puzzled about how to find Em the perfect pair of slippers to snuggle up with this winter… he’s just started crawling and cruising (with oh-so-frequent frequent face plants) and lets just say the little guy needs all the traction he can get! Needless to say we were worried that putting slippers on him might drastically increase the number of forehead bruises he accumulates!

So, as we do around here when faced with a problem, we started searching! We weren’t giving up on our dream of cozy family slippers quite so easily! And we’re thrilled to report that today’s ABCs are all about the solution to our problem, and a ridiculously adorable solution at that! We’re talking all about Woolly Bear Booties! Read on.

AFFORDABILITY:

Each pair of Woolly Bear Booties in baby sizes, sells for $30. I did some comparison shopping (duh!), and found that similar, but less customizable (and less adorable in our opinion) booties are on the market for $35-$40, making Woolly Bear a great, and relatively inexpensive find!

BLUEPRINT:

I wouldn’t have believed there was a formula for cozy, snuggly delight… but the Woolly Bear folks seems to have found one! Their booties are made up of four parts:

• Leather sole
• Fuzzy lining on top of the sole (to tickle and warm those baby toes)
• Cozy warm, handmade wool bootie
• Tie with toggle (to keep them on even the kickiest of baby feet)

I have to say I was a bit nervous about how difficult it might be to get booties on Emmett’s feet… he’s constantly on the move these days, and sometimes keeping him still is much like wrestling an octopus. But not to worry, the clever folks at Woolly Bear has this figured out too! The opening of the boot is large enough for easy on/off, and the tie/toggle combination cinches the slipps in just enough to keep them securely on.

The best, best, best part about these booties in our opinion though (it’s not even the adorable colours of the wool…
but come on! So cute!), is the leather sole. It’s flexible enough for Em to easily feel the floor, and gives enough traction for him to go about his daily explorations! No additional face plants! Hurrah!
